Shakira, Bono, Alicia Keys, Chris Rock and Bill Clinton are teaming up with MTV for Bill Clinton for 'Giving' event

This event will happen on September 29 which comprise of concert and social-change discussion. MTV will be telecasting it live on Think.MTV.com;

All of these prominent people of music and politics will take part in roundtable discussion on youth activism at Apollo Theater in New York. Alicia Keys and Shakira will perform as well.

The event "Giving - Live at the Apollo," is co-sponsored by MTV and the Clinton Global Initiative. Another major sponsor is one.org which is trying to make poverty a thing of past.

Shakira launched line of T-shirts to raise funds forher Pies Descalzos Foundation, which helps displaced children in guerrilla worn-torn Colombia. Shakira is originally from Colombia and said to be very close to her roots and loves spanish language. The brand was launched in Bogota and it will be available internationally. The t-shirt has a fuchsia guitar design with angel wings sourrounded by a big pink heart.

Lovers of Belly dance must thank Shakira to take it to international popularity. We all knew what belly dance it but Shakira really got lots of people interested into it. Thanks to popularity of "hips don't lie"

This is classic example of how one person can completely make one particular dance so famous. I am from India originally and I relate to the fact in 70s Amitabh Bachchan made Bhojpuri dance steps so famous in a country with population at that time close to 70 crores with a single hit of Don k/a "Khaike pan banaras wala". John Travolta made "Disco" so popular with his routine in "Saturday night fever" and Patrick Swayze made "Dirty Dancing" a religion among young crowd in his era.

Today, if you look everywhere Belly dance is so popular, suddenly everybody wants to learn it. Recently Beyonce stated that Shakira actually taught her Belly dance for the new popular hit "Beautiful Liar"

Time to time, iconic stars do come with certain movements which makes that particular dance so popular.
